Goss Crafts Children’s Play: “Lost My Shoe to a Wallaroo!”

On September 25-26, over 300 school children enjoyed “Lost My Shoe to a Wallaroo!,” a children’s play by Judy B. Goss, produced in Cabe Theatre by the department of Theatre Arts and Dance at Hendrix College.  Performances closed with an evening show at 6 p.m., September 27, as a part of Family Weekend activities.

Professor Ann Muse directed the Hendrix Players in the cast of five third graders and their teacher, Ms. Pedicurious, who have an unusual zoo adventure. In helping an escaped wallaroo (“Juan”) with a hurt foot, they also meet his kangaroo cousin (“Joe”) and a cockatoo, as well as the zookeeper. The encounters bring fun as well as fear and offer all a better understanding of friendship.

Professors Danny Grace and Constance Campbell designed scenery and costumes, respectively. Professor Cheri DeVol was technical director and supervisor of student lighting and sound designers.
